Did you know that you can now book appointments, order repeat prescriptions and gain access to summary information from your GP records online?

Booking appointments and managing prescriptions online has benefits for both GP practices and patients, including:

Increased patient satisfaction

More efficient repeat prescription management

Reduction in 'Do Not Attends'

Reduced footfall into surgeries

Evidence shows that patients who are informed and involved in their own care have better health outcomes and are less likely to be admitted to hospital. Further information regarding the benefits of the patient online programme can be found here:

Please contact your practice for more information on how to sign up.

Changes to GP Practices

Luton CCG

Changes to GP Practices
Luton CCG and NHS England recently carried out a comprehensive review to ensure that future arrangements for primary care services are sustainable and of high quality. These services will be provided in line with national, evidence-based best practice, and they will also offer the best value for money.

As part of this review, public consultations were conducted seeking views from patients and stakeholders about GP services being provided by four practices on fixed-term contracts which are due to expire early 2017. The practices affected were Moakes Medical Centre, Whipperley Medical Centre, Sundon Park Health Centre and Town Centre GP Surgery including the Walk-in Centre.

The responses to the survey (one for each practice) were analysed independently and the full results for each practice and stakeholder responses can be viewed by clicking on the links below.

Letters were been sent to patients of each of the four practices together with a summary of the consultation results, to view the patients' letters please click on the links below.

Attached below is a Stakeholder Briefing on the closure of Whipperley and Moakes Practices.
