Health and Wellbeing Service in Luton

Page graphic People in Luton benefit from an integrated health and wellbeing service that focusses on improving their physical and mental wellbeing.

Total Wellbeing is being delivered by social enterprise and registered charity,Turning Point, in collaboration with Active Luton.

The service recognises that improving both physical and mental health is instrumental in improving our overall wellbeing , and Total Wellbeing includes talking therapies,  social prescription,  healthy lifestyle advice, support for healthy weight management, smoking cessation and motivating people to take control of their health.

There are a number of ways that Luton residents can access Total Wellbeing: they can self-refer  using the website or by contacting the service by telephone directly; be referred by their GP Practice, or by any health and social care professional.

The integrated model enables people to access a full range of services they need via a single point of contact.  This enables a wider range of needs to be catered for and offers links into many more health promoting opportunities.

Luton Clinical Commissioning Group (LCCG) and Luton Council (LC) have joined forces to commission these services.

Total Wellbeing are working with a wide range of people with long-term conditions, and have focused campaigns for harder to reach groups of people. There are also activities available for young people and families, too.

This service aims to make a positive difference to the lives of Luton’s residents, providing  a wide range of support and advice from weight management to adopting healthy lifestyles to helping to motivate and empower people to take control of their health to help ensure better health outcomes for all.
